JOB SUMMARY

As the Consulting Senior Manager in Risk Advisory Services, you will offer internal audit, internal controls, compliance, and risk management consulting. You will be a pivotal leader responsible for overseeing and directing the execution of consulting engagements across our diverse clientele. Your extensive experience in consulting, combined with exceptional leadership skills, will drive the firm’s commitment to delivering top-tier client service, maintaining the highest standards of quality, and fostering the professional growth of your team. You will be expected to develop expertise in one or more specific industry areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Engagement Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of consulting professionals, including managers, seniors, and staff members, in planning, executing, and concluding engagements
  • Ensure adherence to engagement timelines, budgets, and firm and professional standards (IIA, ISACA, GAO, AICPA, etc.)

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for engagements
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients for enhancing operational and financial management processes, controls, and reporting

Engagement Planning and Strategy

  • Collaborate with managing directors, directors, and managers to develop comprehensive engagement workplans that align with client objectives, risks, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee resource allocation, assignment of roles, and development of engagement workplans

Engagement Execution, Review and Technical Expertise:

  • Perform intricate consulting procedures and assess complex operational and financial reporting matters to ensure the accuracy and integrity of operational and financial reporting processes, controls and reporting
  • Apply deep technical knowledge of business processes, financial reporting matters, and applicable regulations

Team Development and Mentorship

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to managers, seniors, and staff members, enabling their success and development

Quality Control and Assurance

  • Ensure that engagement documentation, reports, and conclusions meet the highest standards of accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Implement best practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of engagements

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to expand the firm’s client base and service offerings
  • Contribute to business development activities, including client proposals, presentations, and networking

Risk Management

  • Assess and manage risks associated with engagements, including potential areas of concern, conflicts, and liability
  • Implement strategies to mitigate and minimize risks for the firm and clients

Thought Leadership

  • Stay current with evolving accounting and professional standards, industry trends, and regulatory changes
  • Share insights and knowledge with the audit team and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership initiatives

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Will supervise subordinate team members

Work environment

  • Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions

Physical demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

Travel required

  • Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs

Required education and experience

  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, technology, computer sciences or equivalent experience
  • Must progress professionally by obtaining relevant certification such as CPA or other relevant certification
  • Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement

Preferred education and experience

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a professional services firm with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • Internal audit, internal controls, compliance or risk management or other professional services environment
  • Managing staff, including remote management

For job postings in our New York locations, we are required by law to include a good faith salary range for every job, promotion, and transfer opportunity in accordance with the New York Human Rights Law. This range considers many factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s knowledge, job specific skills, experience, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $140,000 to $215,000.
